Information on our company and Chateau Rongzi:
Royal Comfort started as an export/import/distribution company focusing on sharing the outstanding Pacific Northwest wines in China. China is now the leading consumer of red wine in the world however one of the lowest per capita. This provides tremendous opportunity for growth and increased brand awareness for our winery partners.
The huge emerging wine consumer market in China is also a very young market and along with sharing the outstanding Pacific Northwest we realized the importance of educating the Chinese consumers. This included sommelier challenges; education classes hosted by winemakers and winery owners and WSET Level 1 & 2 classes. Educating the consumer creates an environment of choice for the consumer and further showcases the amazing wines we have in our region.
Royal Comfort is also the exclusive importer of Chateau Rongzi wines from China. The lead winemaker of Chateau Rongzi is Jean Claude Berrouet of Petrus fame. Jean Claude Berrout is known for being a “classicist” winemaker and making wines that are balanced and represent their origins. With his partnership with the Chateau Rongzi team that has truly been accomplished.
Jean Claude spent over a year with the Chateau Rongzi team in China choosing the vineyard site. He is actively involved in their winemaking process for every vintage. With many accolades in Europe and Asia and now with Wine Enthusiast in the United States Chateau Rongzi wines are being recognized as world class wines. Chateau Rongzi wines are the highest rated Chinese wines in Wine Enthusiast’s history. The ratings are in the February 2018 issue.

At Vinexpo 2018 in New York, attendees will not only have a chance to taste these delicious wines but also become a distributor or retailer for these wines. These are wines made under the guidance of the same winemaker of Petrus for 44 years which under the Petrus label is literally thousands of dollars per bottle. On May 16 & 17th, the attendees of the USA Trade Tasting Show will have a unique opportunity to be one of the very first people in the United States to sample these elegant wines.
Jean Claude Berrouet is known for being a “classicist” winemaker and making wines that are balanced and represent their origins. With his partnership with the Chateau Rongzi team that has truly been accomplished. These wines are balanced; pairs very well with a wide range of cuisines and simply delicious!
Jean Claude Berrouet spent a year in the Loess Plateau in Northern China working with the Chateau Rongzi team to ensure that the final product showcased the unique terroir of the region.
Chateau Rongzi has 14 wine shops as well as numerous retail partners throughout China that have been able to provide these wines to the fast-growing wine consumers in China. They have chosen to partner with Royal Comfort to debut these fantastic wines in the United States at the USA Trade Tasting Show. This will be a tremendous opportunity for prospective distributors to add these remarkable wines to their portfolio.
